Syncro currently offers Emsisoft's Anti-Malware software and Bitdefender as Managed AV options. But how do I add MAV to a device? Glad you asked! Here is what you will need to do:
Enabling MAV on your Syncro Devices
First, you will need to create a policy that has MAV enabled. We have already included two policies for you called "Monitoring + AV" and "Monitoring + AV PLUS" that will allow you to enable MAV. When you download the RMM installer, select one of these policies and you will also install your MAV with your Syncro RMM Agent.
If you would like to use your own policies, you can head over to the "Policies" section of Syncro and edit or create a new policy. Here you will be able to enable or disable MAV for the device. Enabling MAV will give you a bunch of customize-able features at your disposal:
Already have a device with Syncro installed and want to put on MAV? Not a problem! You can add a policy onto the device with MAV enabled, and an MAV install will queue up on the device. If the device is offline, it will install once the device turns back on and connects to the internet. If the device is already online, it will install the MAV right then and there!
Emsisoft's MAV Features
So you have EAM on a device. What now? Here is some cool stuff you can do:
1) Set up scheduled scans (daily, weekly, monthly) via policy settings
2) Run scans on demand through scripting
3) Review scan logs on the device's details page
4) Enable Real-Time Protection via policy settings
5) Enable Surf Protection via policy settings
6) Verify definitions are up to date on the device's details page
You can also view this information on a device level by viewing the device's details for Antivirus:
Also, the EAM license is designed to never expire, and will automatically be added to the device, so you will never need to worry about the end-customer getting unwanted notifications to renew their AV. Furthermore, all alerts will will display in you RMM alerts, and are configured in your Notification Center.
Bitdefender
We now integrate with Bitdefender to give you another option for MAV! This fully integrates with the GravityZone portal to give you more control over your MAV. You can read more about setting it up and configuring its setting in this article here: Bitdefender MAV
Disabling MAV on your Syncro Devices
Disabling MAV is very simple in Syncro. All you need to do is change the policy on the device to a policy that does not have MAV enabled. You can also disable MAV on the policy, and all devices under that policy will automatically be updated. If the device had an AV installed, this will disable the AV and uninstall the AV from the device. This will also happen if you delete the asset and uninstall Syncro from the device. Any changes will also display in the "Recent Activity" on the device's details page.
